I am living with Friedreich's Ataxia (FA). This rare, neurological condition has reduced my mobility over the past 8 years. I went from walking and running to stumbling to walking with assistance to a wheelchair. FA also effects my balance and coordination. All of these factors make it difficult for me to get around spaces outside of those specifically made for me in my home.
Because I have experienced so many phases of mobility, I can help you make your home or business welcoming and truly accessible for anyone. Or, maybe you are experiencing new mobility issues and need help finding ways to make your space more manageable.
Maybe your home or business is ADA compliant. That is great and it is a good start but ADA compliant does not mean your home or business is accessible nor comfortable for the people you may want to welcome.
Each consultation requires a site visit or a virtual tour with measurements you would be responsible for taking and submitting. After the visit, a report will be compiled with recommendations based on your requests.
This service can either be done in-person or virtually. The virtual option does require video call capability and for you to submit measurements, After the consultation a report will be compiled with recommendations. This service will not advise on ADA compliance. Your local zoning and inspection office should have already done this for you. Our recommendations are how to be TRULY ACCESSIBLE to the people you wish to have visit your business.
This requires an in-person visit that will likely take multiple hours. The report that follows will include a list of improvements and products that will improve the accessibility of your institution.
All too often (most of the time) buildings are designed with little to no thought about it's accessibility. This means that almost every space I enter I know no one thought of me or the 3.6 million disabled people who use a wheelchair in the United States. It is often not that we don't want to go somewhere but that it has been made so difficult and demeaning to do so that staying home is just easier and safer.
Cost is based on the scope of the project and the amount of time it will take to complete the visit and the report. Please visit the "Let's Talk" page if you would like to contact us.
